Somersby Park

There was no new letters at this park, but there was a nice memorial for a fallen soldier.

MSG Scott M. Carney died in Afghanistan in Aug. 2007 when the humvee he was riding in rolled over. I thought this was a really nice way to honor his memory.
And the kids had fun on the big wave.

Dig It!

Just because I haven't added anything in a while. We're still here, checking out the parks. A lot of the parks are very similar, so it's hard to find new letters, but we're always still looking!

Otter Creek Park

Whew! The summer is getting away from me. We've been to lots of parks, but I got a little side tracked on the blogging as we went out of town a couple times. This was several weeks ago when we visited Otter Creek.
An "A" that's great for climbing.

A lower "m". I wish there wasn't so much in the background.

I like this "n".

I couldn't believe I didn't have an "H" yet. There are plenty to be found.

"X" marks the spot!
Bobo has to take a toy with him everywhere. That's not a real gun - just his choice for the day!

Randi kind of looks like a "Y".

On the slide - getting along for the moment. : )

Westwinds Park

This park was my kids favorite for a long time. I realize I need to add more photos of the actual park. You can't see much when I just add letters on my kids on the slide. Plus now that we've been doing this for awhile, I'm not finding too many letters that aren't the same as ones before.
Do you know what this is supposed to be? I'm hoping you say "g". One of the hardest letters for me to find!
Now it feels like summer, but this was a week or two ago and we needed the sweatshirts!

Crestbruck Park

Crestbruck is a fun park with a huge greenspace. There's actually 2 different play areas on the park.
This swing for 2 make a fun "T".

"J" on the handle for climbing.

"A" is kind of a tricky one. Does this look like an "A"?

Bobo on the Giraffe.

See, I told you - a giraffe!

It's pretty tall, but fun for the kids to climb!

Westwood Elementary

Our challenge includes the elementary schools. My kids loved this school. It had lots to play on, lots for different age.

This "E" is from a swing that looks like a lawn chair on chains!

I'm having the hardest time finding a "G". I'm improvising with mulch for now.

"K" has been a hard one, too. I was really on a mission while I was at the school and found several possibilities.

This is the shadow from a hanging play area - not sure what it's called.

This thing is what made the shadow. An overhead view.

I used the jungle gym for several letters. "N"

"M" - another hard letter to find.

"K" - This might be my favorite.
And a "W".

I've had several "O"s.

Part of the swing chain makes a cool "S"

I can always use another "Q"

Another "S" slide
Bobo on the slide.

Randi on the lawn chair swing.

Springwood Park

We went to this park with cousin Madi, too. The kids have been telling me "thumbs up", "thumbs down" or "thumbs in the middle." This one got a thumbs in a middle, but I think that was partly because it was the 2nd park of the day and it was getting a little hot.
This fun version of monkey bars looks like an "e".

The first "Z" I found.

Can you guess this one?  My sis & I thought it looked like a "Q".
Madi, Randi & Bobo.

Whoops! I forgot some.

Here's some letters I forgot from parks I already posted about.
This "C" at Hawkeye Park. It's the foothold on one of the rocking animals.

"J" on part of the climbing wall at Summerbrooke.

"P" at Hawkeye Park.

"T" at Wagner park.

Sunset Park

We continued our bike ride form Westside Park to Sunset. A little bit of a misadventure, since there were several streets that came to an end.

Even if they're passing by, my kids love to give the steering wheels a spin. Makes a fun "O".

What's your guess? I hope you said "A". It may look better in a word. I want to spell PARK, but I'm still trying to find a "K".
Posing on the bridge.

Westside Park

This park is close enough that we can bike there. It's close to the art center, just kind of tucked in between 2 houses. Blink & you'll miss it. It's small, but nice.
Another "I".

I hope you guessed "S". A fun way to climb.

You have to look under your feet to see this "X".

Posing w/ their helmets on.

Swinging w/ her helmet, too.

Bobo always loves the diggers!
